Okay, the odo says 16 mile, but I reset it about 4 miles in to get an idea of how long the trip actrually was- the 20-mile reading is off of my dad's iPhone.
And you know what?
I'm a normal human who hasn't ridden in a month plus.
How?
-Weight management: bring nothing you don't absolutely have to have.
-Pacing: everybody says this because it's true. Don't go all out.
Also, my front fork seems to have unstuck itself somehow. Maybe the dude who did the derailleur swap (not a job I was willing to undertake) messed with it a bit...
I shall leave you with this tangentially related video.

Why would you mess with the fork if you are swapping the derailleur? Their not even close to each other

All bikes under the $700 I've seen wear out the forks pretty quickly and lock up. Usually because of them being badly sealed and dirt working its way in. That's why I ride a bike with no suspension.

Since I got mine slightly used, it was already locked up- this trip's the first time it's properly worked!

The first ride I did this year was 45 miles.

Are you really 5'1", or is your seat just really low?

I'm about 5' 7", (I think?)and I like to keep my center of gravity really low when cruising.
